On a flight to Rome from Geneva over Mt. Blanc

So happy with Edi and Lee in the most wonderful little town called Blattan in the Rhone Valley

The house we stayed in was built in 1705 - big thick old wooden structures, with storage rooms build on stilts with
ingenious ways of keeping the mice out.

See the little mice defying devices?

The Mischabel

The Grosser Aletschgletscher - the pretty muddy glacier, still pretty spectacular

the large house here below was the chalet of the uncle of Edwina, Lady Mountbatten,
made me think of my nanna and mum who know a lot about the Mountbattens

Sacred Cows for Cath

The thing is mum, making a symbol out of the Roman Empire's death implement is a fundamentally flawed strategy, tho I thought of you here

on top of the world with Edi

the clouds in Blattan

Yin n Yang

The view out of our window - the mountain and the black faced sheep

This creek gurgled loudly like the sound of a new bottle of wine pouring the first glass

This is, believe it or not, called Cholera. It is a speciality of the town of Brig - and is made of leeks, cheese and potatoes.
This dish is called cholera because it was eaten when disease was about and folks would stay indoors, not trading or going to market
relying on the stores they had - and as Swiss mountain types, they had plenty of cheese and potatoes. YUM!
